Consequences
This year, students will receive a re-teach for any misbehavior. A re-teach involves discussing with the student at recess why the misbehavior occurred, why it was inappropriate, and how to prevent such behavior in the future. If a student continuously receives re-teaches, they will be asked to complete a “Re-think” sheet during recess that allows the student to reflect on their misbehavior and think of ways to avoid this in the future. Repeat offense consequences are as follows:
1st Re-teach: warning
2nd Re-teach: practice and discuss broken rule
3rd Re-teach: practice and discuss broken rules, complete “Re-think” sheet to be signed by parents
4th Re-teach: practice and discuss broken rules, complete “Re-think” sheet and a detailed note from the teacher will be sent home to be signed
5th Re-teach: practice and discuss broken rules, complete “Re-think” sheet and a phone call home by the student to discuss behavior
6th Re-teach: practice and discuss broken rules, complete “Re-think” sheet and office will be notified; student may be sent to complete some assignments in a different classroom
7 or more Re-teaches in one day: student will be sent to the office to complete school work
Re-teaches will be recorded in planners every day to monitor good behavior for rewards!
